KIMS Global (Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences), headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, is a leading healthcare group with a network of multi-specialty hospitals across South India, including Kollam, Kottayam, Perinthalmanna, and Kochi and an international presence in the Middle East, spanning Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and the UAE. Marked a major milestone with its 210-bed multi-specialty hospital in Nagercoil. Designed by STAT Consultants and executed by Tesla Engineers and Tino Engineering, the facility required precision execution within a compressed timeframe.

ChallengesThe hospital was slated to go live by August 2024, with all design elements finalised by February 2024. This created a narrow window for procurement, installation and commissioning, posing significant logistical and execution challenges.
Legrand’s SolutionTo meet the aggressive schedule, Legrand provided end-to-end support from early-stage design reviews to expedited production cycles. A 65-metre straight-length Zucchini Busbar was custom-fabricated and delivered in under four weeks, ensuring uninterrupted progress on-site.

ImplementationDrawing on the design approach used for the KIMS Trivandrum project, the implementation prioritised fast-track execution. Orders for both switchgear and BBT were fast-tracked, ensuring timely delivery. As a result, the entire electrical backbone was commissioned on schedule, and the hospital was made operational as planned.
ConclusionThe successful, on-time commissioning of KIMS Nagercoil reinforces Legrand's reputation as a trusted partner for fast-paced, critical infrastructure projects.
